Well today is my day 7 of the 21 day program. I think I am doing pretty well. I don’t know if I lost any weight. I don’t know how many times a day I want to get on the scale and see if I have lost anything, but I keep telling myself to wait and it will be worth it.  My husband is my back bone and he is also doing the program. Without him by my side I don’t think I could do this.

I am at the stage or a point where I get hungry before snack or after a snack. So I drank lots of water and it helps fill the little whole until it’s time for the snack or dinner or lunch.

We went to Trader Joe’s this weekend and got some great snacks and cereal.  I keep telling myself it’s so worth it and how much better I am going to feel about myself and the way I feel.  People are asking me why and it’s not for anyone but me. I am unhappy with the way I look and feel. I want to be able to play with my kids and not get tired from walking 1 block down the road. I have my husband to be a program buddy but I would like other people to let me know if they have any suggestions or comments or idea’s on anything more I could do and let me know if there is something I am doing wrong.

This is what I am doing for breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and snack

I am not an egg person at all, so I usually eat an apple or something like that. Then for a snack until 2 days ago I was eating 100 calorie bars, until my husband looked at the box and said we are not allowed to eat any of that. That is when we decided to go to Traders Joe’s. So that was my flaw. Otherwise my snacks are an apple and fat free string cheese which I so love.

Ok this is my blog. I will keep posting.

Thanks all for listening and any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Angela

  • You need to make sure you are getting in protein at every meal including breakfast. If you don't like eggs or egg whites, try a low sodium store brand of oatmeal, just check the ingredients for the dirty dozen. I get the instant apples and cinnamon and mix 1 scoop of protein powder in with it. The other breakfast I like is 3 egg whites scrambled and 1 morning star turkey sausage all rolled into a trader joe's tortilla. it's very filling and delicious!

Pears and plums are also very good snacks.

I am not a cereal person, I really prefer something hot for breakfast. In How to make a Fat Loss plate on page 17, it says 1 cup of lowfat/skim milk.

  • Not absolutely sure on how much milk with the cereal, but I have been doing a cup because on the carton that is what they call a serving size. It's more milk than I would normally use. Maybe someone else can blog and help us out here?

Jill do you get that cereal at trader joes? I seen them but it wasn't on the cereal list from the 21 day program so i didnt know.

Thanks for your replys. Its nice hearing differnt peoples stories along with mine to get some insiders and help when you need it.

Does anyone know how much milk we can have for our cereal.  I have read and read in the book and i am unable to find it. Unless i keep looking over and over it but my husband said he can't find either.

  • It is helpful to have someone to do this with; a friend at work and I are doing it, so it is nice to have someone to talk with. This site is also so helpful. Everyone is always ready to help. Sounds like you are off to a good start.  If all you are having for breakfast is an apple you may not be eating enough. I was never a breakfast person either, but now I wake up ready to eat.  I like cold cereal which is good becuz it is so easy. My favorite is Barbara's peanut butter puffins. Good luck and nice to meet you.  Jill

  • That is so great that your hubby is doing it with you! We all mess up here and there, but keep plugging along. You're trying to absorb a whole new way of eating, but eventually it will become second nature to you both. My tote looks like a grocery store: Almonds, apples, cheese sticks, Larabar snack bars. Keep blogging with any questions or just to say 'hi'.Smile
