I've decided to go vegetarian, not raw, hopefully working into a total vegan diet over the course of several weeks. I made this decision by talking to my family dr, my lupus dr, and a couple of dear friends. I feel good about this decision. I know it will be a much less cruel way of life and help the environment too.
Last night, was BAD! I got lazy, didn't listen to my Smart Technique cd or meditate, and I ate carbs like crazy! 5 slices of bread, a huge spoon of peanut butter, and a bagel with lots of cream cheese. All in less than an hour and just before bed. I must be vigilant...this is my LIFE I am toying with, not merely my weight. It may sound dramatic, but with lupus, fibromyalgia, and diabetes, it is the absolute truth.
I made an appointment with my chiropractor again. I haven't been in about 5 years, so we are starting all over with an evaluation. Up until now, I had no insurance that covered chiro but, now that I do, I am SO looking forward to going back. He helped me tremendously when my shoulder "froze" and wouldn't move. He's also a wonderful person, funny, friendly, and warm. A good doctor.
I've been reading alot of good books lately. If interested, I recommend that you check out the following authors: James Redman, Neale Donald Walsh, Jean Houston, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Lonnie Edwards, Dan Brown, Sylvia Browne, don Miguel Ruiz, Kala Ambrose, Eric Allen, and Robert Heinlein. I bought like $300 of books off Amazon about 3 weeks ago, and am down to about 10 to read. I'm going to go to the local bookstore later this week to check out their used books. All of the books are $1-4 and the proceeds go to the local no-kill animal shelter. I told my hubby to pack a lunch because I will be there for awhile...I love books!
Tonight, I have a show on from 8-11pm tonight. About 3, I'm going to meditate. About 6, I'm going to listen to a motivational cd. And, at 11, I'm going to do my ST cd, Instant Control. Between the 3, today will be a good day. I believe that I can create my reality however I choose to. I have free will and can make my own decisions. Today, I choose peace profound, in all of my activities, including the peace of mind knowing I am doing something good for my body.
Love you all. Thanks for listening!

HAPPY EASTER ALL!!!
Three stupid guys just died and are at the pearly gates of heaven. St Peter tells them they can enter the gates if they can answer one simple question.
St Peter asks the first man, "WHAT IS EASTER?" The man replies, "Oh that's easy, it's the holiday in November when everybody gets together, eats turkey, and is thankful..."
"WRONG, " replies St. Peter, and proceeds to ask the second man the same question, "WHAT IS EASTER?"
The second man replies, "No Easter is the holiday in December when we put up a nice tree, exchange presents, and celebrate the birth of Jesus."
St Peter looks at the second man, shakes his head in disqust, looks at the third man and askes, "WHAT IS EASTER?"
The third man smiles and looks St. Peter in the eye.
"I know what Easter is. Easter is the Christian holiday that coincides with the Jewish celebration of Passover. Jesus and his desciples were eating at the last supper and he was later deceived and turned over to the Romans by one of his disciples. The Romans took him to be crucified and was stabbed in the side, make him wear a crown of thorns, and he was hung on a cross. He was buried in a nearby cave which was sealed off by a large boulder. Every year the boulder is moved aside so that Jesus can come out, and if he sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter."
LOL Emily HAPPY EASTER
Hello Happy FLer!
Erin Go Braugh! Irish heritage celebrations. Am doing a corned beef and cabbage/potato dinner with Irish soda bread. Yep, lots of salt, unfortunately, but I am taking this day for Strategy 2. Aaron, Gracie and Kourtney will be spending the night tonight becuz Mom and Dad are having their annual party for all the guys at the Fire station and some that Daddy was deployed with. Going to make a "right bash of it". Guinness of course! LOL Precisely why the kids are coming over here.....Amber and Mike are collecting car keys at the door so there will be quite a few over nighters there and they need the extra room LOL.
Have some fun planned for the kids as well. Along with the Irish supper, they are going to make shamrock cookies, a green caterpillar decorated cake and drink green milk!
The caterpillar is really cute and easy. I picked up these little silicone cupcake cups that have goofy feet on them. You set them on a cookie sheet, fill with cake batter and make eight individual footie cupcakes. Decorate each of seven of them with a different color (today, different shades of green), ice a little face on one of them, add some pipe cleaners for antennaes, candy eyes, sprinkle cake glitter on all the body pieces and then line them up in a sort of "S" shape on a pan and you are good to go.
I had to laugh yesterday. I stayed with Aaron and Kourtney while Mom worked at the nursery school with Gracie. Aaron won the spelling bingo that we played (he is home schooled) and as a reward, he wanted to bake a cake. I got out the cake mix (His house) and everything. He saw the oil and frowned and put it up and took out a new jar of applesauce and said,"NANA.....use THIS, not OIL." Well, pardon me....I did not know his mom was doing that too. LOL. He said the cakes taste better than "that nasty oil".
Interesting day at Sunday School on Sunday afternoon. Teaching kids about prayer (okay, senior moment....did I already tell this one?)Anyway, I started them off with juice and crackers and asked them, "What did the disciples say before they ate the bread and fish that Jesus gave them?" It was real quiet for a minute and I was about to answer when one of my little girls popped up and said, "Oh, I know...they said, 'These fish got any bones in them?'" Uh, yeah....besides that. LOL
Checking my calendar and I have TWO potlucks on Saturday. One for our "Girlfriends" breakfast meeting at 8:30am, then the 50+ Riverwalkers study group at 1pm. Yikes. Don't know if I am going to make either one of them. I love all the folks there, but my goodness there are some fantastic cooks!
Well, that is all for now...thank you for "listening" to me. Have a wonderful St Patrick's Day!
God Bless,
Jeanne
Well Happy St. Patty's to you all. Had a little time to write tonight. Last month I was 306 at the doctors this month 302. A little slower coming off but at least is coming off. I have to the 26th for my check up so I still have a little time to get into the 290's even if it's 299 lol. Started working overtime last week that put a snag in the work outs. I switch shifts every week, last week was night shift 3:30 till 2:00 Am. Plus I picked up a couple upholstery jobs. I ordered the material for our sofa and I said to the missus watch I was slow all winter get this material and I'll get jobs that pay. Sure enough 4 chairs and 2 repair jobs to do.But that'll help pay for the new tv we got. I think one other thing that's slowing me down is the weekends. I do like to go out Sat. afternoon have a couple drinks with the guys. I kind of get out of the daily routine. But with the side work I have now I think I'll skip going out this weekend exercise and see if it helps. The missus is doing all right she started exercising more and her cloths are getting looser. I bought a Wieder X factor work out system. I like that a lot it attaches to the door and you can do a lot of different exercises with it. Check it out on there web site. Thinking of St Patty's Day when the daughter was in college they were having parties in the dorm she was in and the guys did the cooking. They made Spam and Cabbage instead of ham and cabbage. I don't think that would be a FL Plate. Well got to get up for OT tomorrow morning starting at 6:00 am. Have Fun!!!
This recipe sounded so easy and good, thought I would share, havent tryed it yet, but will next week, need a head of cauliflower and only have frozen, might work. Think I will try it for St Patricks Day with some corn beef and a small potato for a food lovers plate
OVEN ROASTED CAULIFLOWER
1 Head of cauliflower
2 tsp each of salt and pepper
1 tsp curry
2 tsp paprika
2 Tbl Oil
Cut cauliflower head in half, remove greens. Place on a baking sheet, flat side down. Drizzle with oil, then sprinkle with seasonings.
Bake 375 degrees for 15 minutes
Cut into large pieces to serve.
Calories depend on how much you eat. Just calulate the cauliflower (not much) and the Oil.

OK, went to church, makes me feel good. So fridays now are Omega 3 day, healthy fish, tuna, shrimp. Really could use a few good fish recipe hummmm. Any ideas? also talked about baggage, how most have to much, my first thought was weight lol. But how alot of us have to much stuff, I have tons of stuff in storage bends. So thats a exercise project for me. Go through all my stuff and give it to people who have no stuff. Thought about St Vincent De Pauls, but remember they charge the poor outragouse prices for stuff but they do do good things with the money they get. Thought about going in the very poor side of town and just stacking the stuff on the side walk, but the melty snow would damage the good stuff. So how would you go about helping people with the stuff you want to give away free for the taking............
My name is Lisa and I going to Start the Program Jan 3, 2010. No detox for me, I heard a report on Good Moprning America that claims that detoxing is not really that effect. My doctor also said that I am healthy enough that I probably don't need it. I am a fun loving, out going person. I like having friends/cheerleaders to keep me motivated during the 21 day MM. I work part time in a customer service position. I have been happily married for 15 years. We both have grown children and currently have 2 grandchildren. I live in Lexington, SC and am a transplant from St Louis, MO. I am looking forward to meeting all of you
Lisa
Hello All, I have been moving so fast I have not had time to get on and tell you about all my challenges. Just let me say I have been a bad girl of late, but really not as bad as I use to be. I have not been able to stay on program as far as eating on the schedule. and I did have an overdose of cake for my birthday and all these other foods I cooked that were not on program. We were celebrating and had our Christmas Eve dinner a day early because My daughter went in to have her baby yesterday. We welcomed Joseph Aurelius Briggs into the world yesterday afternoon weighing in at 8 pounds 6 ounces. This is my 3rd grandchild and I am so excited.
So having said that you know I am not done. I have relaxed from the exercise because I was traveling and have not had enough rest. Well tomorrow starts another day of getting on the grind. In the meantime (today) I am going to enjoy my family, cook some healthy yummy stuff and just have a great day.
I wish you all (my friends and all newcomers) a very Happy Holiday, may you be blessed with all your needs and some of your wants. My only wish is to achieve my goals in the New Year. I know I am in the right place to do that so Have a great day everyone, I will be talking much in the coming week.
Best,
Evelyn
Oct 25th 2009 my twenty first day
I weighed and measured myself yesterday and I lost 8 lbs in 21 days. Any weight loss in my book is a gain towards my goal. I've tried a few of the comfort food recipies and even got my husband to try a few. I've been doing well with the change in lifestyle EXCEPT for exercising. Ugh. In the beginning it was lazyness, then I twisted my ankle and can't put weight on it soooooooooooo.
My goal this week is to exercise!!!
hope everyone else is doing well. Hugs Pat
