Hi all! It has been WAY too long since I've last logged in. So many new faces!
Things are going great in my life - after a year and a half, my husband and I finally got pregnant and are expecting our little girl in February! As you can imagine, my diet has gone by the wayside as I try to nourish my baby. Strangely, I'm not feeling FAT, but instead I evaluate what I put in my mouth as how it will fuel my child. It's an amazing feeling and I'm hoping that after the baby is born I will be able to carry these positive healthy feelings through my post-partum recovery and getting my body back in shape.
In other news, my husband had lap band surgery in July. This is quite the change for us as his eating habits are bouncing all around as he tries to find the balance between eating to fuel his body and both of us overcoming the emotional issues that gaining and losing weight can bring. I will say, that one thing that made me so happy the other day was when I realized that the lap band diet AND the Food Lovers guidelines are basically the same - PROTEIN, fast burning carbs and slow burning carbs. I was so happy when I could go through my favorite FL recipes and find things that worked for both me and him. Not to mention that I am also able to use many of the FL strategies for making a FL plate that works perfectly with his diet requirements.
I am so excited about the future and look forward to being more active on the site. Now if I could just stop eating so much cheese - LOL - gotta love the pregnancy cravings! :)

I just want to thank you guys for all your support and encouragement from my earlier blogs about starting over and getting back on track. I got some good ideas from you guys about easy snacks. The 100 calorie snack bags are great to carrie to work or in my pocket book wihen I am on the go, and it seems like I am always on the go. I know one thing that would help, it is one thing I have the most problem with, it is not being able to get lunch on time when I am so busy. So I have decided that if I can't get lunch on time if I always have a snack with me then I can switch my lunch with the snack and eat my lunch after that. I still exercise no matter how crazy my day gets I make time for it, it makes me feel better about myself and my day if I get the excise in. The last couple of days I have had alot going on, my car broke down and had to get a new one and as crazy as these days have been I had the snack, did the exercise and I have lost two more pounds. I am so excited. This program is the best. I just have to remember my sucess, and stay focused. Its not that hard I can do it.
I'm doing it whoohoo, I'm getting back on track with the program. I am getting serious and focused again. I have lost two poouds. What a nice surprise. As I was saying in an earlier blog, sometimes life makes it hard to get meals on time. I thought I blew it again yesterday, just being out and not having what I need for a snack. But I ate as soon as I could and I doing good. I have kept up with my exercise, I have been doing Robert's 36 minute kickboxing one day and strength and toning the next. I am proud of myself that I have been able to stick to it. I know one thing that would help me stick to eating every 2 to 3 hours would be to have the snacks on hand. I love the peanut butter chrunch Cliff bars, but does anyone have any suggestions for another good snack to take when I am on the go. I like having choices that taste good it helps me to stay on track.
I was at a fundraiser last night, and a friend was the "official" photographer. As I saw his pictures post on Facebook this morning, I was eager to see what magic he had captured from the event. Much to my chagrin, several of the photos captured me from behind. I almost fell off my chair!!!!! I have already lost almost 30 pounds, and was thinking I looked MUCH better from behind. Obviously, I was very mistaken! I saw the infommercial this morning for the Food Lovers program, and knew I had to try it. I'm familiar with the glycemic index and recognize the value of it - I have an old book on it (very outdated!). I ordered it this morning.
I will print these photos and post them strategically around my home as encouragement. I don't know that anyone else cares about my progress, but I'll post blogs to update my progress. I think it will be good for me to do, and one more thing to keep me motivated.
I wish you all great success, health and happiness!
Dinner is not usually such a big deal as it was tonight. Took me two hours to make it, and it wasn't even a special occasion, but the biggest thing was that I was actually very pleased with it. I made a chicken catchatori (I can't spell worth beans), brown rice, and broccoli for my hubby-to-be and my folks, AND everyone was very pleased with it, INCLUDING ME!!! (Half the stuff I make I tend not to like.) I actually think this was one of my better meals.
I made it FoodLovers friendly and we had a really nice dinner so I'm very happy tonight. (Future hubby is doing this with me and my folks are attempting to do it too.) I didn't do quite so hot on my afternoon snack(s) but we stay up late anyway, so my couple of snacks after dinner went well and were better timed. Progress not perfection, and today my best is good enough. Had a real hard time with my asthma today, so 12 min. workout is rescheduled for tomorrow. Slight disappointment there, but I was moving around quite a bit while fixing dinner, bustling around the kitchen and such (numerous trips to the pantry and freezer which are on opposite ends of the house and nowhere near the kitchen LOL) All in all a relatively good day.
Well today is day 4 of my journey and I think I am getting the hang of this..lol. I had to work off site today which made me plan ahead. Which was okay but I did find myself checking my watch and making sure it wasn't time for me to eat. Thank you all for your comments of encouragement I truly appreciate it. It helps me to stay motivated! I have went and gotten some of the Luna and Clif bars and other snacks with the 21 approval. My daughter laughs at me because I am always going through the check list protein ,fast carb and slow carb. But she also has been very encouraging! I have also added exercise now I worked 15 minutes on the Gazelle, 10 minutes on the Ab Flex and then ran 5 times up and down the stairs.
So hopefully this will help with my journey...tomorrow I add some swimming first thing after breakfast.
Life is a long lasting chain of events linked together by mistakes, accomplishments and miracles.

Yes that is what has happened...I have had some big stresses come into my life and I have fallen off my life change and food (DIET).I have made a promise to myself to get back on track that it is a part of life and I need to put on my big girl panties and pull them up and get back on track. So I am going to start my new me again today and stop beating myself up for this.As you can see I eat for comfort so as long as all is smooth in my life I can stay on track.I hit a big bump and it has very difficult for me to get back on track but,I am here now in mind and spirt and ready to tackle this weight thing once again.I hope to have all the support I need to get through this so if anyone can be a buddy with encouraging words would greatful for them.Much love to all my weight lose friends.Talk soon!!
Do you think there is a connection between what you eat and don’t eat and the appearance of your skin? Have you ever noticed that people who go from being sedentary to an active lifestyle not only feel better, but look younger? As your body benefits from the Detox Drop (which is a natural cleanse) so does your skin.
No one is exempt from coming in contact with toxins. It could be the water we drink, the food we eat, the prescription and non-prescription medications we take, and the air we breathe. There are a variety of sources for which you can come into contact with toxins. DID YOU KNOW that when you don’t consume an adequate amount of water you may fall short of bathing your cells and eliminating waste products, which can negatively affect your skin? As well, your digestive track may be in need of an adequate intake of fiber.
When it comes to maximizing both your internal health and the appearance of your skin, the Detox Drop can prove quite helpful.
You Are What You Eat
It’s true that good skin is a reflection of a healthy digestive system. Matter of fact, practically every skincare specialist will tell you that if you experience such disorders as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis that the right nutrition can bring about amazing recovery of your skin condition. Surprisingly, many people with a skin disorder also suffer from constipation, leaky gut, digestive conditions and an imbalance of “healthy” and “unhealthy” bacteria. One of the truest means for improving your skin’s appearance is to both consume the right foods and beverages as well as giving yourself a break from what you normally may be eating and drinking. (detox).
Sugar and Premature Aging
Sugar is not necessarily bad; however, there is a right and wrong way to consume it. When it comes to your skin the wrong way would be carbohydrates in excess and too much highly refined sugar at one time. Why? When you consume too much sugar at one time – the flood of sugar in your blood can result in a process known as glycation. When you have an abundance of sugar floating in your blood you heighten the likelihood of the sugar molecules damaging protein molecules by sticking to them. When this happens the collagen in your skin, cartilage and ligaments are likely to be damaged. The scientific name for this is called advanced glycation end-products, or AGEs.
Sweating and Skin
One of the easiest things we can do to help our skin is to exercise. That’s right! When you exercise you eliminate toxins through sweating. I refer to exercise as a natural way to rid your body of toxins. Please note however, that it is exercising that brings about this benefit, not necessarily sitting in a sauna. In short, you can sweat out toxins if the sauna is all natural. On the flip side, if you are sitting in a steam sauna or bath that uses chlorinated tap water you’re wasting your time. Your skin is likely to absorb this chlorine and that’s not a good thing when it comes to your skin and overall health.
Fiber Friendly
I mentioned the benefit to your intestinal health when you consume an adequate amount of fiber. But, what’s an adequate amount? The average North American is consuming around 14 grams of fiber daily. Well, according to the National Academy of Sciences Food and Nutrition Board, the recommended fiber intake for men aged 19-50 years is 38 grams, and for men over 50, 31 grams. For women aged 19-50 years is 25 grams, and for women over 50, 21 grams of fiber.
If you aren’t currently consuming an adequate amount of fiber daily, make it your goal to slowly boost your fiber intake. As you do this however, be sure to also increase your water consumption. The goal when it comes to water intake is to make sure your urine is clear.
Final Words
When you Detox Drop you are naturally contributing to all that I’ve shared with regard to improving the appearance of your skin. First, you're taking time to remove yourself from toxins that may be habitually consumed and you are getting an adequate amount of fiber, water and antioxidants to name a few.
The next time you do the Detox Drop do me a favor, take a up close photo of your face (before) and then another at the completion of the 6 Day Detox Drop. Be sure that the lighting, background and time of the day is the same. I look forward to hearing from you.

So I got my package Wednesday night. I spent Wednesday and Thursday night ready and going through the system and all the tools that came with it. Went grocery shopping tonight to make sure that I have plenty of snacks, protein and both carbs in the house so that I don't have any excuses to not follow through. Although in the past that never stopped me. I am excited and nervous. I have spent so much money trying to find that thing that is going to motivate me and change my life and nothing has worked so far. I am hoping this is it or I may just give up. I have been working out for a year and a half and haven't lost a pound, maybe even gained some. I just can't seem to give up my food!!! I am an emotional eater. I eat when I am stress, bored and anxious. Working full time and going to school full time, does not help the stress levels and of course does not help when trying to lose weight. I really hope this is the one!!!!
I start the program tomorrow, wish me luck!!!

It is not failing that defeats us it is how we respond to failure. If you have not failed you cannot succeed. So you say “I didn’t eat on schedule today, my portions were too big, I didn’t drink my water, and I didn’t exercise”. Or “I have failed at other diets I don’t know if I can do this”. We can all find reasons to fail, let’s start looking within and find every reason to succeed. I challenge you to ponder these names above look at where they where and who they became. You can become who ever or what ever you desire to be. You can be as lean and fit as you desire to be – “If” you truly desire. Do you?
So the next time you fall, your eating is off or whatever the case may be think of these few names and the tidbit of their story of ‘Failing to Succeed”. You can live your life “Diet Free”. You can be lean and trim, you can succeed!!!

I haven't been on here in a while because life is good. This website has helped me to find others going thru the same thing I am. I have been inspired by others going thru the same struggle. I have learned so much about eating in a more healthy way. This plan works.
I have been on FLFLS for almost a year. I have found that it is almost second nature to read the labels, look for a slow carb to be added to my meal, drink water rather than soda, and eat my snacks. It has been a process of I lose a few pounds, go on a plateau for about a month, then lose a few more pounds. When I started I wanted to lose 90 lbs, to get back to 155 which was my weight about 15 years ago. More importantly I want to lose the inches a be a size medium. I was up to 2X or 22W and was not a happy camper. Now I go between a L and XL. 1X usually feels too big.
I have more energy because I am not lugging around that extra 45 lbs. I am resigning from the 60 to 99 lbs to lose group. I have fun trying on clothes because I don't feel like I have to look for a tent to wear. I enjoy looking for new recipes. I am more happy with myself and a lot of that is because this works. I have made a conscious decision to live a more healthy life. Occasionally I endulge, but then find that overeating is so uncomfortable I don't want to. I find it easier and easier to say "no" to the extra helping.
Life is good. I hope that it is for you, too.
Take Care,
Minda
I am really thrilled with the results I've had on the program so far. I lost 9 lbs doing the six day detox and now another 4 lbs doing the 21 day MM for a total of 13 lbs.
% Body Fat has gone from 42% to 36.5%
Fat weight lost: 15.66 lbs
Lean Body Mass gained: 2.66 lbs
I'm going to continue with Strategy 1 since I don't feel like I'm missing a thing or need to change what I've been doing for the past 3 weeks. This plan is so much better and easier than any diet I've done in the past. I have to agree with everyone that says that this is not a diet, but a lifestyle!
Tami
I weighed in today and drum roll please. I weighed in at 200.7. It is amazing how seeing that line below 201 can boost my spirits. With all the changes in our life this past six weeks, the plan is still working for me. I tried on some size 16 skinny jeans and could have bought them, but let's face it, I am over 60 and skinny jeans are not my thing, but I could get in them.
This is the first time in four years, I have seen 200 as is relates to my weight going down. I want to be at 195 by 9/2/10 which is the weight I was at when I met Ken. My goal is 155, so I have a ways to go. But I have gotten rid of 45 lbs of FAT and I never want it to come back. My dog Snoopy weighs 45 lbs. When I lift him to weigh him, I told the kids, look this is how much I have lost. I have lost as much as Snoopy weighs!!! That is a great visual for how far I have come.
I am so thankful to the FLFL system and Robert Ferguson for the education so I can go forward with a health lifestyle. Even tho my life is changing (we have a 5, 6 & 13 year old living with us for the past six weeks), eating healthy works.
Thank you. thank you.
Minda
